Book Sale
Every year we sell thousands of new books at our half-price sale on
Thanksgiving weekend. Windham County Reads is the designated trade show
charity for the New England Independent Booksellers Association, and
many publishers at this show choose to donate their books to us rather
than shipping them back to their warehouses.
As a result, we can offer the area public a wide variety of front and backlist fiction and non-fiction for both children and adults, just in time for holiday shopping. Local book stores make their selections before the sale opens to the public, and we refer shoppers with specific requests to them.
2011 sale dates and times for the general public are Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 only, from 9 to 6. Sunday hours are specifically for book dealers. This year's Book Sale location is 80 Flat Street in the Church Building in downtown Brattleboro. This small plaza on Flat Street houses seven businesses and has its own parking lot. Just one short block from Main Street, it will definitely be worth a trip!
The book sale is a major fund raiser for Windham County Reads, accounting for about 15% of our annual budget. Don't miss this opportunity to choose from a wonderfully eclectic selection of books for all ages!
