Every June cyclists of all ages and abilities gather at the Brattleboro Petting Farm on Route 30 to ride for reading. Participants pay an entry fee ($30 for adults, $5 for ages 5-9, $10 for ages 10-15), choose one of three beautiful river valley routes (13, 32 or 60 miles) and bike with friends or family to help keep our award-winning Bookmobile program on the road.

Group start times are staggered, with the 60 milers leaving first at 8:30 a.m. This supported ride through the West River and Connecticut River Valleys of southern Vermont follows the route of the classic Tour of the Valley race, which was held for over 20 years.

Start time for the 32 mile loop into Brookline is at 9 a.m., and the 13 mile family route to a popular covered bridge and swimming hole has a start time of 9:30. All cyclists enjoy free food and drink along the way, and those who turn in at least $50 in donations at the beginning of their ride are also eligible for prizes donated by bike shops.

This year's Tour de Book is scheduled for Saturday, June 26, 2010. We hope you'll save the date and join us -- last year's 80 participants would love your company!
